Lucas received his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Queen’s University in 2014 after first completing his Honours Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from McMaster University. During this time Lucas was working as a personal trainer, exercise therapist and Kinesiologist.
Throughout his career, Lucas has worked in variety of different settings, from the intensive care unit to inpatient rehabilitation and working with athletes in a sports clinic. He has also volunteered in senior homes, cardiac and spinal cord injury rehabilitation. Because of this experience he understands how to help patients at any level of function.
Lucas has an interest in orthopedics, particularly how posture and form relates to pain and efficiency during movement. This is due to his experiences with scoliosis, and chronic back and knee pain. Exercise therapy forms a large part of his treatment style, as well as manual therapy and a variety of other methods, to ensure patients recover and stay healthy. He is currently furthering his education in acupuncture and plans to continue his education in new manual therapy techniques.
Outside of the clinic, Lucas likes to stay active in a variety of physical activities. In university, Lucas was a varsity fencing team captain. Today, he likes to travel North America with his volleyball team, and hit the slopes in the winter. He also enjoys activities like golf, basketball and cycling.
